Inside Out

The Little Mermaid and Her Prince   (Illustration by Edmund Dulac)
Life from the outside in often feels quite different than life from the inside out.

Megan and Harry (no need for last names here) revealed to the world just how stark that difference can be.  Whereas the public equates marrying a prince with living happily ever after, the truth is often less than blissful.  In fact, it can be downright suicidal.

Megan recalled the fairy tale in which a mermaid marries the prince of her dreams, but loses her own voice in the process.  She then compared her experience to that of the mermaid’s.  When reminded that Andersen's story ended on a happy note, Megan seemed hopeful that hers would also.

Harry harkened back to his mother Diana’s tragedy and is determined to prevent such history from repeating.  It takes wisdom to learn from the past and courage to make some essential changes.  Royalty is granted by society - wisdom and courage by God.
