Died Trying

Physical death is pretty much a given in this world, but the “how” of it remains a mystery for most.

Many say they would like to die while asleep.  Not Angela Madsen.  Definitely not Angela Madsen.

Madsen was well aware of the dangers when she decided to row to Hawaii.  And yes, you heard that correctly.  She decided to row from Los Angeles to Hawaii. 

Not only that, Madsen was 60 years old at the time.  She was also a paraplegic Marine Veteran.  Hardship was no stranger.

Before leaving, Madsen told her loved ones “that if she died trying, that is how she wanted to go.”  She did die trying, a death ennobled by her mighty efforts.
