Effervescent Lambrusco (Marco Carboni) |
Northern Italy, a region that’s been hit hard by the coronavirus
crisis, seemed about due for one. So when wine began flowing from the water faucets in Castelvetro di Modena, nobody seemed to mind.
Worldly explanations have been offered for the ten plagues of Exodus, so why not for this too?
It’s been said that “a malfunction at a local winery” caused Lambrusco to infiltrate the nearby water pipes.
Say what you will, the timing seems auspicious. Residents
surely needed something to smile about during these panic-stricken days.
