Get a Whiff of This

There’s an old joke that goes something like this: “If your nose runs and your feet smell, then you’re in trouble!”

But what if your chip smells?  We’re not talking the yummy aroma of a chocolate chip, but rather the scary potential of an

artificial-intelligence (AI) chip.

True, there might be some benefits to the AI recognition of various scents.  Robots might then be able to detect hazardous chemicals, dangerous drugs and weapons.

However, they might also sniff out opportunities to snuff out humans.  Who knows what could happen?  Perhaps the nose knows.
