The Little Bugger (NASA photo) |
When Rover
disappeared from range last June, due to
a huge Martian dust storm, scientists
kept searching for signals. Due to a lack of
direct sunlight, Rover’s battery power had
dwindled. It had become too weak to
phone home with.
Good news,
however, this past Tuesday! The Mars
Reconnaissance Orbiter picked up a tiny
image of Rover descending into the aptly-named
Perseverance Valley. Still no direct “word,”
but NASA is hoping to reset Rover’s
“internal clock and resume communications.”
