Daniel B.
Kline reports that “23 % of workers have
left a job because of the commute.” This is especially true for those in big
cities such as New York and Miami,
but is also becoming a
problem
within rural areas.
Companies that
wish to attract qualified workers are
becoming more and more attuned to
flexible alternatives. They are offering
work-from-home days, as well as schedules
that avoid rush hours. Some are
even shifting to a “four-day workweek,”
or relocating closer to where employees
live.
