Some of the tiny
critters that reside in your gut are
polite enough to produce their own
electricity. Science Daily
reports that
this ability “may one day prove useful
in creating bacterial batteries.”
So if you’re
hoping to hop like the Energizer
bunny, Lactobacilli might be your new
best friends. Just don’t
confuse them
with electrogenic but gut-wrenching
neighbors such as Enterococcus faecalis or Clostridium perfringens. You don’t want to end up hopping
mad instead.
