Trouble in Paradise?

When it snows in Hawaii, you know you’re in for a rough ride here on Planet Earth.

Reuters recently reported that “sustained blizzard conditions,,, dumped 8 inches of snow” onto Hawaii’s mountain peaks.  In a state that usually favors water skiing over downhill, this spells trouble.

Across the Pacific, The Golden State is also turning white.  California's Sierra Nevadas had “twice as much snow as usual this winter.”

So if you’re looking for Paradise, set your sights higher than Mauna Kea and Mount Whitney combined.  Otherwise, bring a shovel and some boots.
