What Goes Around

“What goes around, comes around” is not just a karmic metaphor.  This month, it will apply time and again to asteroids nearing the earth.

This week alone, three will be edging our way.  One is said to be “the size of a bus.”  Hopefully, it will not be picking up Earth’s passengers.

Later in January, more will swing by.  A particularly tall one is “two-and-a-half times the height of the Empire State Building.”  Another is “bigger than Big Ben.”

These are not comforting statistics.  But statistics are not all there is.  With a little bit of luck and a huge dose of grace, we’ll dodge these bullets once again.
