Cereal Raid

It might seem over the top for Mexican agents to seize “380,000 boxes of Kellogg’s cereal,” but consider this: Mexico has one of the highest adult obesity rates in the world, and the cereals that were seized are loaded with sugar and empty calories.

Worse yet, their boxes sport images of “child-friendly cartoon characters,” thus encouraging youngsters to partake of the unhealthy contents.  This is particularly disturbing because Mexico has more “overweight and obese children” than any other nation.

Few complain about drug raids because it is widely acknowledged that drugs can kill.  What’s not so commonly accepted is that the wrong types of food can do the same.
