Think Mars, which is currently a lot more solid than Earth. As Earth’s internal heat dissipates, the overall planet hardens. A recent study indicates that such dissipation is occurring more rapidly than was previously thought.
Before things get unbearably rocky, humanity would need to either relocate or figure out ways to terraform Earth itself.
