Second Genesis

Cotton Plant   (Photo by Jud McCranie)
It wasn’t until Genesis 1:11 that God let there be seed-bearing plants on Earth.

And it wasn’t until the year 2019 CE that a seed-bearing plant graced the moon.

Our rocky neighbor is finally beginning to sprout, thanks to the success of China’s Chang’e mission.  The very first lunar leaf is from a cotton plant that had germinated “on board the lunar lander.”

The ability to grow food is crucial to long-term survival in space.  This has therefore been called a “giant leaf” forward for humankind.
