Dr. Watson presumes

The same man who declared, “If we don’t play God, who will?” is now far less idolized by humans.

Dr. James Watson of DNA fame recently had some honorary titles revoked by the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.  He has apparently presumed way too many things about race and genetics.

Watson presumes that “Africans are less intelligent than Westerners” and that “Indians are servile.”  He has also described the Chinese as “intelligent but not creative.”

Perhaps playing God could entail a bit more egalitarian compassion.  For if God doesn’t honor everyone’s unique abilities, who will?
