When his
beloved dad was nearing death, George W.
Bush made one last phone call. He told
Bush, Sr. what a “wonderful dad he had been and
that he loved him.” The dying patriarch
responded, “I love you, too.” These would be
George H. W. Bush’s final words.
After his
wife Barbara’s death, Bush was not quite ready
to leave this world. He wanted to spend one
last cherished summer at home in Kennebunkport,
Maine. Upon returning to
Houston in
the fall, “things sort of went downhill
from there.”
Bush was now
ready. His passing was reportedly as kind and
gentle as could be.
