Who moved the philodendron?

Tree Philodendron    (Public Domain)
When you left the house this morning, all was calm and bright. But by evening, something was amiss.

The philodendron, which usually sits at the eastern end of the table, had now moved somewhat west.  Before concluding that your house is haunted, consider this possibility: the philodendron had some technological help.

Its cute little stand is actually an interactive device that responds to changing light.  Most plants can bend on their own accord, but this puts a whole new spin on the maneuver.

When a plant signals the need for light, its robotic stand can speed up the process.  The philodendron is then wheeled over to the nearest glow.

Wonder what will happen when trees get their own wheels.  Will they seek revenge for decades of indiscriminate logging?
