There are earthquakes, and then there are...

If you guessed tsunamis, you’re thinking like an Earthling.  Nothing wrong with that if you tend to be earthbound.

But if your passions lie with the Mars lander, then you might be thinking Marsquakes.  That’s because InSight’s “robotic arm” successfully lowered a seismometer “onto the Martian surface.” For the very first time, humans will be privy to “seismic measurements” from another planet.

Not only that, a “heat probe, dubbed the mole" will soon burrow deep below the Martian surface in order “to measure internal temperatures.”  These Christmas miracles seemed like science fiction not that long ago.
