Near the beginning, there were 613 commandments (as categorized by the great medieval scholar, Moses ben Maimon). 

There were positive ones (what to do) and negative ones (what not to do). With 365 negative ones, your 2019 calendar can look pretty full.  Plus, it’s never advisable to marry your step-mother.

That being said, most of us have trouble memorizing 10, let alone 613 commandments.  Therefore, Jesus distilled them down to two.  Simply put:  Love God, and love one another.

Ah!  Now that’s easy to recall.  The tough part is putting it into practice.  That’s where “Anyway” comes into play.  Dr. Kent Keith paradoxically “commands” the following: “People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.  Love them anyway.”
