Long Lost Generosity

These days, e-mails to Santa are brief and to the point:  Give me this and give me that.

But a century ago, one special letter to St. Nick was filled with generosity.  In 1912, 8-year-old Page Woodward had “asked Santa to bring gifts for everyone but herself.”

This touching letter was only recently discovered.  It had been wedged between the chimney and fireplace mantel for all these interim years.

Although Woodward died in 1951, her Christmas spirit will live on within all those inspired by her selfless requests.
