One Up for Justice

Although citizens of certain countries are supposedly deemed innocent until proven guilty, they are often condemned via the media long before (or completely without) a legal conviction.

Back in 2014, British police raided the home of “rock icon” Cliff Richard.  They were “investigating alleged sex offenses.”

Although such offenses were merely alleged, and Richard was “never arrested or charged with any crime,” his reputation was shattered by BBC helicopter coverage of this event.

Richard therefore sued, and recently won his case against the BBC.  He has been “awarded more than $260,000 in damages,” but no amount of money can erase negative impressions from the public’s mind.
