Saturn and Friends (NASA photo) |
It appears
that the latter two have been communicating
for eons. Their plasma
exchanges are accompanied by some
out-of-this-world moaning.
Such antics were
recorded by Cassini, shortly
before her nose dive into oblivion. Enceladus,
it turns out, is no deadhead like Diana (Earth’s
own moon goddess). She’s a hot “little generator” that flaunts stripped-down water vapor
Saturn’s way.
This goes a
long way toward bridging the “hundreds of
thousands of miles” between them. Maybe one day Saturn will even put a ring on
it.
