Sahara Sands (NASA photo) |
This wasn't
some American conspiracy, but instead a
rare weather phenomenon. Business Insider explains that “storms in northern
Africa picked up sand, dust and pollen
particles from the Sahara and blew them
across the Mediterranean and Europe.”
This phenomenon, which occurs every five years
or so in various parts of the world, also
accounts for the recent orange skies
over Crete.
