Such
was the thinking of Lee Spencer as
he set out to break able-bodied records for
rowing across the Atlantic. In just 60 days,
this one-legged veteran singlehandedly rowed
from Europe to South America. Along the
way, he encountered “40ft waves” and slept
for only two hours at a clip.
After
reaching French Guiana, Spencer was more
than ready for “a beer and relaxing.”
