Pink Hair and All

In the Pink   (Photo by David R. Tribble)
Has your child asked to dye her hair pink lately?  Did your “No way!” echo from here to eternity?  If so, it might be time to rethink the small stuff.

When Rachel Carpenter’s 10-year-old daughter Nevaeh first asked to spice up her tresses, the answer was no.  Just days after that, Nevaeh was fighting for her life with accidental “burns that covered 70% of her small body.”

The family bonded like never before and got through it.  This experience revolutionized Rachel’s parenting style.  Mom’s current philosophy is this:  “If a child’s request does no harm, why say no?”

Pink hair, scars and all, Nevaeh’s now doing well.  Beautifully well.
