'Queen' Palin: Thou shalt judge

Judgment of Solomon   (by William Blake)
Is it in the cards for Sarah Palin to be Judge Judy’s successor?  Seems like a natural fit.

Palin, known far and wide for her folksy proclamations, is said to possess “common sense wisdom.”  Ya know, sorta like a modern-day Queen Solomon…

Y’all might recall the Judgment of Solomon from 1 Kings 3:16-28.  In this vivid scenario, two women come before the wise king, both claiming to be the mother of the same infant son.  Each urged Solomon to decide in her favor.

Solomon thought for a moment, then reached for the nearest sword.  Declaring that there was only one fair solution, he proposed cutting the baby in two so that each might have her share.

Immediately, one woman cried out in agony, “Give the baby to her, just don’t kill him!”  The other simply reached out to receive the baby bounty.

Solomon was then easily able to determine who the true mother was.  It was she who had spontaneously begged for her baby’s life to be spared at any cost.

Although Ms. Palin does possess a certain amount of homespun smarts, the jury is out on whether she also possesses such royal intuition.
