Queen Elizabeth's diet

At an age when many are bedridden, Queen Elizabeth is still going strong.  Her vitality may be largely attributed to healthy dietary habits.

Her Majesty is a big fan of small portions, preferring four lighter meals to three heavy ones.  She will indulge in small slices of dark-chocolate treats, rather than hunks and chunks of milky sweets.

Seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh from the garden, are also royal favorites.  Strawberries are savored in summer, but never in winter.  Out-of-season selections lose a great deal of nutrition while being shipped great distances.

And then there's the old British standby: tea.  Elizabeth prefers Earl Grey, which contains flavonoid-loaded bergamot.  Black tea has been associated with lowered blood pressure, weight loss, and a reduction in ovarian-cancer risk.
