Malala graduates

Thousands of high school graduations occur each year, so why is this one so special?

Malala Yousafzai has been an education advocate for females in her native Pakistan.  Even a 2012 retaliatory shot in the head by a Taliban gunman hasn’t slowed her down.  After receiving medical treatment for this in the United Kingdom, she attended school in Birmingham.

In 2014, Yousafzai was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her advocacy efforts.  Now almost 20, she intends to pursue a degree in “Philosophy, Politics and Economics.”  Oxford University has already offered her “a place to study.”
