Schindler's Listmaker

Schindler's Krakow Factory in 2011   (Photo by Jennifer Boyer)
Behind every good list is a good listmaker, and there’s been none better than Mimi Reinhardt, Oskar Schindler’s secretary.

When the World War II Holocaust was raging, Reinhardt helped to “save hundreds of Jews” from torture and death within Nazi camps.  She did so by compiling lists of Jews to be hired at Schindler's Krakow factory.  Schindler then bribed Nazi officials with black-market items in order to keep these workers safe.

Reinhardt recently died at age 107.  Rest in Peace, dear Mimi, among the other Righteous Ones.
