Although God invented human hands, humans are finding ways to approximate that template. The mechanics of it are one thing, the sensitivity quite another.
A breakthrough recently occurred when scientists were “able to 3D-print tactile skin.” This will enable them to “create robots that are more dexterous,” as well as prosthetics with “an in-built sense of touch.”
How so? Researchers “imitated the dermal papillae” within actual skin. These are located between the outer epidermal and inner dermal layers. 3D techniques provided a combination of “soft and hard materials” that mimic biological structures.
