Because cancer can kill innocent victims, DNA “fingerprinting” is now in the works. Scientists have studied the genetics of 12,000 malignant tumors in order to determine their “mutational signatures.”
By matching such signatures with specific preventives and treatments, doctors may eventually be able to arrest cancer itself.
