Gutsy Garlic

Turns out that garlic is not just something for the taste buds.  It can be good for the gut, as well.

If this seems counterintuitive due to garlic’s spicy nature, then think again.  These pungent bulbs have fibrous components that “act as fuel” for the beneficial bacteria within your gut, sometimes allowing for increased functioning.  Raw garlic is more potent along these lines than cooked versions.

Yet if you’re suffering from irritable bowel syndrome, garlic can have a deleterious effect.  It's important to first determine the cause of symptoms before embarking upon treatments.
