Ty says Bye

Ecclesiastes says that there’s a time to be born and a time to die, a time of war and a time of peace.  Ty Buttrey says that there’s a time to throw and a time to go, a time to hit and a time to quit.

Buttrey had been with the Los Angeles Angels from 2018 through 2020.  At the beginning of the 2021 season, he just knew it was time to move on.  In a heartfelt written statement, Buttrey outlined these two major reasons:  he had already realized his baseball dreams, and he no longer needed to prove detractors wrong.

Buttrey also felt that he was shortchanging loved ones.  He wishes “to finally be a normal hardworking dude, that loves his family and friends.”  Who can argue with that?
