Like a Duckbill to Water

Why hello!   (Public Domain)

“Like a duck to water” is a common expression, indicating a strong bond between the two.

It therefore appears that the duckbill dinosaur lived up to its aquatic name.  A fossil of such was recently discovered within Moroccan rocks.  Since duckbills originated in North America, how did this one end up in Africa?

Scientists figure that duckbills found a way to cross hundreds of miles of ocean.  By the time these lambeosaurs evolved, the continents had already split and there was no land bridge to Africa.

“Large tails and powerful legs” probably helped carry them across.  Perhaps they managed to catch some rest upon floating debris.
