Unfortunately, gender equality has never been as simple as 2 + 2 = 4.
Females were long thought to be biologically weaker in math than males. Researchers
have now shown that “society and culture” make for gender differences in STEM ability, as opposed to biology.
Jessica Cantlon, Professor of Developmental Neuroscience at Carnegie Mellon University, therefore cautions us to “ensure we aren’t the ones causing the gender inequities.”
