Nuts for Annie

You rang?   (Photo by Dismas)
Like any good parent, Tyler Gregory worries about his little one.  Only in Gregory’s case, his little one is a squirrel.

Annie was just a tot when blown from her nest by a storm.  When found by Gregory, she was barely able to survive.  His loving care made all the difference.

Gregory and his girlfriend bottle-fed Annie every three hours during those first crucial days.  They also placed this fur baby into a heated cage.  Annie grew rapidly and soon “wanted more room to roam.”

This was a welcome sign that Annie would go on to live a normal squirrel life.  Soon she was going for walks on the grass and “taking flying leaps from… fence posts.”  It wasn’t long before she was also climbing trees.

Gregory began feeling empty-nest pangs.  Annie, however, never entirely stayed away.  She would frequently return to “Daddy” for belly rubs, cuddles, and nutty handouts.
