One hand feeds another

There is that old story about starving denizens of Hell, all sitting around one huge pot of soup.

Each is holding a long-armed ladle, one that is way too long to spoon the soup into his or her own mouth.  Nobody’s yet figured out that they could easily feed one another with the exact same soup and ladles. This is why they’re in their own brand of hell.

A homeless man named Johnny Bobbitt Jr. could have clued them in.  When he noticed that Kate McClure was stranded on I-95, Bobbitt walked his last $20 over to the nearest gas station and got her going.

In return, McClure began helping Bobbitt with some “cash, clothes and food.”  After a few such visits back to the spot where she first met him, McClure decided to do even more.  She then started a Gofundme campaign, which has thus far “raised more than $13,000” for Bobbitt.
