In the Pink

What’s even better than a pink Cadillac?  A pink fire truck, for sure.

This is especially true when you're battling breast cancer after fighting fires for 20 years.  Upon recovering from double-mastectomy surgery, Kim Strickland “found a pink fire truck waiting outside the hospital for her.”  Her Broadway Fire Department had borrowed it from another South Carolina company, especially in her honor.

Although doctors are saying that healing will take another six weeks, Strickland feels otherwise.  “While listening to her fire pager and radio,” she stated:  Oh, I’ll be back before six weeks.
