China recently topped a list of supercomputer
strengths. This Top500 competition ranks supercomputers
according to their calculating capacities. Because
supercomputers have become integral to military operations, China's achievement can spell trouble for other nations (especially those that fancy themselves top dogs).
Supercomputers
not only assist with military maneuvers, but also
help with “investigating the cosmos.”
Domination can
therefore extend into space, as far as the computer’s eye can see.
