Pray for Trump: Why not?

Praying Hands  (by Albrecht Durer)
Although (as Reverend Randolph Marshall Hollerith of Washington National Cathedral has stated) Donald Trump might indeed be “the architect of un-American and un-Christian anti-immigrant measures grounded in paranoia and fear of the stranger,” that’s no reason to
cease praying for the president.  In fact, it’s every reason to pray even harder.

And while we’re at it, might as well add Steve Bannon, Jeff Sessions and Kellyanne Conway to the list.

There’s an old hymn that reminds us all:  Not my brother, not my sister, but it’s me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.  Perhaps it’s not an either/or, but simply a both/and.  Brother, sister, president, counselor, butcher, baker, headline-maker:  we can all stand not just a little, but a whole lot of prayer.
