Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No and No

Good news for rich people who live in Dubai and don’t have a driver’s license:  “self-flying passenger drones” will soon be the way of it.

These egg-shaped crafts “with four legs sticking out, each with two small propellers” could be on the beat as early as July 2017.  Made in China, the EHang 184 drone “has a battery life that allows for 30 minutes of flying” within about a 30-mile range.

Not technologically inclined?  Not to worry, the sole passenger (complete with “small bag” and together weighing under 220 pounds) would merely have to “add a destination on a touch screen in front of the passenger seat.”

Soon he or she will be plopped right down to that exact location.  Sure beats a crowded bus or subway.  According to George Yan, EHang’s co-founder, it’s even “10 times better” than a Ferrari.
