Happy British Christians

There's a well-known Christian hymn that begins:  If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.

British churches must be resounding with applause because statistics suggest “that Christians are among the happiest people in the nation.”

These statistics are gleaned from studies done between April 2012 and March 2015.  Right up there with Christians were the nation’s Hindus.  The non-religious scored the lowest in this Office for National Statistics “happiness index.”

Interestingly, “the 65 to 79 age group was the happiest of all, while those aged 45 to 59 reported the lowest levels of life satisfaction.

So if you’re experiencing a mid-life crisis, religion just might help.  And who knows?  Your senior years may then be truly golden.
