Confucius in a Wheelchair (Public Domain) |
Dwight
Miller had been a school-bus driver for
children with special needs. He worked
this wheelchair route for 17
years. During that time, he had a knack for
making children and their parents feel
cared for and comfortable.
Miller would
decorate his bus on holidays and mentor kids from the driver’s seat. He would
invite parents along on the dry run that occurred
before the school year officially began.
Miller also
volunteered at Big Brothers Big Sisters
and Friendship Ministries. He explained: God has
been part of my life… He cares about me, and I need to show that to others.
