When Thomas’
previous owner was no longer able to care
for him, he ended up in an animal shelter. His chances of being adopted were far less than
those of a healthy kitten.
But there are still some souls who rate compassion over
convenience. Thomas was fortunate enough to garner
the attention of one such heroine. Laura Cassiday of
the Animal Allies Rescue Foundation read about
Thomas on the shelter’s Facebook site and picked
him up almost immediately. He is now the feline patriarch
of her seven-cat household.
Cassiday
explained: The shy ones, the old ones, the ones that hide in the back of their
cages, the ones that just don’t stand out [are] the ones that need you the most and have just as much love to give as any other pet.
