Warming hearts, souls and homes

(Public Domain)
There’s an old saying in Zen Buddhism: “Chop wood, carry water.”

The McDaniel family certainly has that first part down pat.  Father and sons have been chopping wood for those who cannot afford to adequately heat their homes.  This year alone, they have stockpiled 40 cords.

Each cord would normally sell for about $400, but the McDaniels are giving them away.  Sometimes, they even include chimney-sweep coupons.  Such generosity has caught fire, and others are now adding “truckloads of wood… to the McDaniel’s pile.“  This all makes for a glowing Christmas and  a toasty new year.
