It takes community to help a homeless vet

If you’re going to Kansas City, might as well go another 20 miles over to Blue Springs, Missouri.  There you might meet up with Steve Arnold, once a Marine (and always a Marine).

Arnold is now 66 years old and homeless.  He sleeps on a cot in a       tent near the highway.  Although Arnold never begs (or even asks) for help, this makeshift home was given to him by a Blue Springs resident.

Local folks have gifted Arnold with all sorts of necessities, for which he is exceedingly grateful.  People marvel at his faith and humility, both of which are abundantly apparent.

Arnold believes that compassion and generosity come straight from the Lord, and that those who reach out are doing God’s bidding.  He reciprocates by “picking up messes on the side of the road.”
