Clint Eastwood: If actors were horses

Cowboy Clint    (Public Domain)
Back in the Rawhide days, when a director yelled “Action!” the horses would bolt.  Now a director himself, Clint Eastwood keeps a looser rein on actors.

Instead of shouting at the cast, Eastwood merely substitutes “All right, go ahead” for “Giddy-up!” and “That’s enough of that” for “Whoa!”  If more seems needed, he adds an “Eastwood look.”  Anyone who recalls Dirty Harry does not want one of those.

Eastwood's latest film is Sully, which stars Tom Hanks.  Biped Hanks admits that such looks can be “intimidating.”
