Let Us with Lettuce

If humans caused the problem, then it behooves them to address it.  In this case, the problem is starving manatees, caused by the pollution of their seagrass food supply.

Wildlife agencies have therefore been feeding Florida’s “sea cows” with “more than 55 tons of lettuce." Conservation officials report that this practice has made a beneficial difference.

Efforts are also being made to restore seagrass habitats.  This, however, could take quite a while.
