Not Too Shabby

South Beach   (Photo by Averette)

Saggy is not necessarily shabby.  Nevertheless, Florida’s Opa-Locka had put a ban on saggy pants for the past 13 years.

And just what does “saggy” mean?  In this case, it has referred to pants that allow for underwear to show.  Kind of ironic, considering that Miami-Dade beaches are filled with people showing far more than just that.

The American Civil Liberties Union got involved, and the ban is now being seriously challenged.  For one thing, it has “disproportionately impacted young Black citizens.”  For another, this is still the land of the free.  Is it not?
