Although dogs have long been called man’s best friend, it’s also the other way around.
When dogs interact with their people, canine systems flood with oxytocin, the “love hormone.” Even a whiff of familiar clothing can get those tails wagging. And babying “good dog” phrases will send them straight to doggy heaven.
So go ahead, be a fool for Fido. Science will back you up when the neighbors get to talking.
