Depressed yet Resilient

Ages of Man   (by C. W. Eckersberg)

Elders who suffer from depression have gone through a whole lot of tough times.  And that’s what makes them especially resilient.

Researchers found that seniors with a history of depression have been coping reasonably well with the present pandemic.  Some attribute their resilience to the many years of navigating depression.

Feelings of isolation are nothing new to these elders.  They have long since learned to deal with such challenges.  People who long to buzz about their daily lives could take a cue from this patience and fortitude.
