swimming across Lake Malawi for 54 days
straight, Hobbs “set the world record… for
the longest solo swim in a lake.” What enabled
him to do so? He figures it was 20

going. Thinking about his next meal helped to alleviate the pain.
These are
techniques that anyone can use while facing a
particularly tough challenge.
